On completion learners will: • Recognise the common errors associated with the use of an intravenous insulin infusion. • Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of preparing and proactive on-going management of an intravenous insulin infusion.

This online course aims to increase learner’s knowledge and confidence in the safe and effective use of an intravenous insulin infusion (III). The course is particularly suited to medical and nursing staff providing care for adults on an III. However, it is also relevant for medical students and pharmacists as it will give them an increased understanding of the important aspects of caring for people on an III.
