This online course aims to increase learner’s knowledge and confidence in the safe and effective use of an intravenous insulin infusion (III). The course is particularly suited to medical and nursing staff providing care for adults on an III. However, it is also relevant for medical students and pharmacists as it will give them an increased understanding of the important aspects of caring for people on an III.
Online training on The Safe Use of Intravenous Insulin Infusion in Adults, will take approximately 2 hours to complete. The length of time taken depends entirely on how quickly the learner can study and absorb the material. You can proceed as quickly or slowly as you like, as there is no time limit in place.
Once the course has been completed, learners will be able to recognise the common errors associated with the use of an intravenous insulin infusion. They should also have gained an improved understanding of the principles of prescribing, preparing and proactive on-going management of an intravenous insulin infusion.
